Can a contractor be fined by the NSCB for not pulling a local city or county building permit?
Yes!
“When a contractor accepts a citation instead of a Board Hearing for not pulling a permit, the administrative fines are set by statute in the Nevada Administrative Code 624.7251. The minimum and maximum fines were established by the Board after a public hearing on March 16, 2004. The contractor has the option of refusing the minimum fine and requesting a Board Hearing. The minimum fine for not pulling a permit is $1,000.00 up to $3,000 for repeat offenders. Generally the Board does not get involved in this matter until after a complaint is filed by the homeowner and the investigation subsequently determines a permit was not pulled before the work was started.” Follow this link for more information...
