Dear Parents and Students:

Subject:  2007 SNARSCA VoTec Scholarship Program

SNARSCA is pleased to announce our plans to offer a scholarship for one or more of the graduating seniors in the Air Conditioning Program at Vo Tech High School Class of 2007.  We have allocated at least $1,000.00 for this scholarship this year.

We are interested in helping our local students get motivated for an exciting career in the heating and air conditioning industry.  Some of the items we are expecting to evaluate in our application process for the scholarship will include some or all of the following:

• Attitude
• Grades
• Attendance
• Driving Record
• Must hold valid EPA card
• Must prove that they want to stay in the HVAC field through letters of recommendation from parents, teachers, employers, others in HVAC field, etc.
• Must participate in Nevada State Skills USA contest
• Recommendation of the instructor
• Letters of recommendation from others
• Personal interview with board of directors or our appointed committee
• Financial needs
• Must prove they are US citizens.

Now is the time to start planning for this scholarship by talking with your instructor and parents.  It would also be a good idea to let them know of your plans, keeping good grades, learning all you can about air conditioning, and finally by thinking of adults who may prepare a letter of recommendation for you.  Please keep this letter to help you get prepared.

Our Board of Directors would like this to be a simple process that can be accomplished before graduation occurs.  Applications will be available from Mr. Ball.  Scholarship is only available for 2 years and must start being used within the first year.

We plan on completing or selection process by early May.
