Jason grew up in Northern Michigan and began his HVAC/R career in the United States Air Force, where he served for 20 years at seven different permanent duty locations and completed eight deployments around the world. As a technician for the USAF, Jason gained valuable experience working with a wide range of HVAC/R equipment in extreme environments.
Midway through his career, Jason was assigned to Sheppard AFB in Texas, where he taught HVAC/R to Airmen and Navy Seabees. He earned a bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R Engineering Technology with a focus on Energy Management from Ferris State University.After retiring from the Air Force in 2017, Jason moved to Las Vegas, where he received his contractor’s license and co-founded Patriot A/C with his partner, Steve. Together, they are actively involved in veteran and nonprofit organizations, giving back to the community they serve.
Jason also serves as the lead HVAC/R instructor at the College of Southern Nevada. During his tenure at CSN, he earned his Certified Master HVAC/R Educator (CMHE) certification through HVAC Excellence. He also created an associate degree program in building automation, established internships with multiple organizations, and is currently developing both an apprenticeship program and a new degree in energy systems.Jason’s true passion lies in training and mentoring students, helping them launch rewarding careers in the HVAC/R industry—a mission that continues to strengthen the HVAC/R community in the Las Vegas area.
